UNCDF: Evaluation of National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2018 – 2023 and Design of National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2024 – 2030 for Vanuatu

The Reserve Bank of Vanuatu is the central bank for the Pacific nation of Vanuatu. It is active in promoting financial inclusion policy and a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion.

The UNCDF is the United Nations’ flagship catalytic financing entity for the world’s 46 LDCs.  UNCDF works to invest and catalyze capital to support these countries in achieving ​the sustainable growth and inclusiveness.

Context:

One of the functions of the RBV is to further financial inclusion in the country. For this purpose, RBV introduced the first NFIS in 2018 for a period five years. The NFIS duration was till 2023.

Objective:

Conducting an assessment of the NFIS I (2018-2023) and designing NFIS II (2024 – 2030) for Vanuatu

Impact:

A National Financial Inclusion Strategy for the Republic of Vanuatu for 2024 to 2030.
